What
we do for ourselves stays with
us; yet what we do for others
remains and lives on for future
generations.
The Morley
Society recognizes
those who let us know that
they have included a gift to
Silverton Hospital in their
estate plan. An annual dinner
program is hosted each May
to present helpful information
on estate planning and to express
appreciation to the members of
the Morley Society. While some
prefer to keep confidential
the details of their estate
plans, we believe there is
great value in thanking donors
during their lifetime.
Details
of one's gift plans need not
be revealed, and donors, of course,
retain the right to changes their
plans; it is only asked that
donors provide in writing a statement
for our files that a gift to
Silverton Hospital is included
in one's estate plan.
Should
you have a will?
The
answer is YES. Whether you are
single, have a young family,
or are in your retirement years,
your will let's those you love
know your wishes for them. Even
more, a will saves your heirs
considerable expense and heartache.
Nearly 70 percent of Americans
die without a will, leaving their
families to deal with needless
cost and paperwork. A will determines
the distribution of property
owned by you at the time of death.
Why would you not want to clearly
state your wishes while you are
alive and of sound mind?
Defining
Your Legacy
For
many,
the
will
provides
a
long-term
expression
of
values
and
stewardship,
not
only
with
respect
to
family
and
friends,
but
with
respect
to
a
charity
or
charities
as
well.
Adding
a gift to Silverton Hospital
in your will helps us continue
our mission even after your lifetime.
And although those who benefit
will never be able to thank you
personally, your bequest will
serve as a tribute to your loving
foresight and compassion.
To
include a bequest in your will,
the following language may be
useful:
"I
give, devise, and bequeath _____
%
(or
otherwise
state
a
specific
amount
or
describe
property)
to
the
Silverton
Hospital
Foundation
for
its
general
purposes."
