The
purpose
of
the
Silverton
Hospital
Foundation
is
to
advance
the
work
of
Silverton
Hospital
through
philanthropy.
Created
as
a
separate
nonprofit
corporation
in
1986,
the
foundation
is
led
by
a
15-member
board
of
directors
who
serve
voluntarily.
Funds
raised
over
the
past
20
years,
which
exceed
$10
million,
have
been
invested
solely
in
improvements
to
the
facilities
and
equipment
of
Silverton
Hospital.
As
the
cost
of
providing
hospital
services
continues
to
rise,
it
becomes
increasingly
difficult
to
collect
enough
money
to
pay
expenses,
replace
our
equipment,
and
upgrade
our
facilities.
Charitable
support
is
essential.
Silverton
Hospital
receives
no
local
tax
support,
and
the
hospital
provides
a
significant
amount
of
free
medical
care
to
individuals
who
have
no
ability
to
pay.
Every
gift
is
important.
If
you
would
like
to
consider
a
gift
to
Silverton
Hospital,
please
contact
the
Foundation
office
at
503-873-1790.
